Life has a way of just speeding past and before you know it you have gotten into letting things slide by because you never seem to have time anymore. Unfortunately updating the blog has been one of those things that have slid by. But not to worry cause I plan to cram in all the fun stuff that we did or didn't get to do this summer.
We did manage to get in 2 camping trips this summer but had been hoping for another one but alas that darn time thing and weather turning yucky the last couple weeks have derailed that idea. Jacob got to try quadding for the first time and seemed to like it though we have no plans to purchase him a dirt bike or quad anytime in this life. He took a couple rides with his cousin Craig and Uncle Pete and luckily his cousin Meagen has a small head or either that or Jacob has a large head!

We spent a few day trips at the beaches this year as well with our friends and spent some time trying to hook some of those fast little fishies. Now that Jacob has a little net he thinks that he can scoop up some minnows but they are very clever and fast so they manage to sneak by him. Jacob also got to try his hand at fishing from the canoe, though it wasn't as exciting as he thought it would be especially since he didn't catch anything. Maybe next year he can try his hand at fishing for salmon.
Jacob got to show off his dapper side this summer by participating as the ring bearer at his sister Taylor's wedding. He was very handsome and did a great job and even entertained us later at the reception with his breakdancing skills.
He got to glam it up with a bunch of teenage girls which when he's older he will appreciate! He got to hang out with his cousins alot this summer and played house, vet, store, swim in the pool, go to the park, ride bikes and eat lots of ice-cream. Ah a child's life!
We have also gone on some great hikes and walks this summer as we are trying to stop mother nature from creeping up on our backsides and enlarging them. Now that Jacob is getting older he is able to keep up and sometimes outrun his old parents so the hikes are getting longer.
And of course we went again this year to Playland and brought along Tessa and Meagen to share in the fun. Jacob was tall enough this year to go on the water ride and so we all packed into a car after waiting for an hour and got all wet. I even managed to get Meagen on her first roller coaster this year so hopefully they'll be lots of kids in the family to go on rides with. We had a great day with lots of sunshine and finally an exhausted kid!

We took advantage of the Chilliwack Flight fest this year and even Uncle Dave came out for a visit. For a week after we had paper airplanes flying around the house as Jacob perfected his flight patterns.
This summer has also shown mummy that her little guy is growing up cause he has gotten bigger in height but still has not one pound of fat on him thereby causing a lot of pants and shorts to be cinched tight. He has been learning how to assert his independence and strong will and has amazed us with his hearing and ability to repeat things that unbeknown to us he has heard! *Note to Parents* - You may want to start thinking of secret codes before your child can talk so you don't suffer any embarrassing moments!
Now we are truly heading into Fall and are looking forward to halloween and Christmas. Jacob has only been mentioning what he wants for Christmas since oh about June and the list gets longer and changes regularly! We are hoping to still get out and enjoy some nice days before it gets really cold or rainy but hopefully that won't stop the fun that we can experience. Before you know it it will be January once again and then my little boy will be 5!
