Toboggan fun!

Of course the weekend that we pick to go to Whistler to play in the snow, it not only snows here but it actually stuck! So not one to waste the opportunity presented we decided to have a snow day today. We drove up to the property and bundled Jacob up in his snowsuit and drove into the virgin snow to make our mark.
This is Jacob's second snow experience and he handled it much better than when he was 2 weeks old. Of course he couldn't move with all his clothes on and he didn't make a sound either (so not really sure what he thought of all the white stuff), but we liked it. We brought our toboggans and sledded down our driveway and then we made some snow angels. If it wasn't so cold I would have thrown a couple snowballs.
Now I can't wait for next year when I can build a little outdoor rink and we can go skating!

My first toy truck

What is a boy without a truck? Today when we went out I couldn't resist getting Jacob his first truck (suffering a little guilt that we are going away). It is a Mega-bloc dump truck that he can scoot around all over the place. I swear that boys know instinctively what to do with trucks cause he had it figured out without me showing him what to do with it.
My sister can say that I swore I was never going to buy lots of toys but hey it's a truck and it doesn't come with a whole bunch of little pieces that will drive me crazy .
Life is good!
First Sleep-over

I am going to spend the day and night at Gramma and Grandpa's tomorrow cause my mummy & daddy are going to Whistler to have fun in the snow. Mummy says that they have to haul all my stuff over so that I will be able to sleep well and so that I don't wiggle when Gramma tries to feed me. On Sunday I am going to Church but mummy says that I will miss the sermon cause hopefully I'll be asleep but if not i can peek through the window and watch everyone. Maybe Grandpa and Gramma will take me out for lunch or maybe Christmas shopping so i can point out what I need.
I'm not sure how i will feel when Mummy and Daddy aren't there to put me to sleep, hopefully I will be able to sleep okay. Maybe Gramma will sing songs to me or Grandpa will give me a long cuddle.
I hope Mummy & Daddy bring back some snow to play in cause i want to try out my new tobaggan and snow gear.

I don't want to jinx this but......
Now all I have to do is get him used to his playpen so that he will sleep in it when he goes to his grandparents for babysitting and for when Steve and I go away. I think though that as long as we bring his nice comfy bedding that he should be okay.
I'm really happy about this as I was despairing that he would be one of those kids that decided he didn't want to sleep through the night until he was 5 and then I would have to have the Super Nanny come and give me heck for doing something wrong. Now all I have to do is learn to sleep through the night myself and life will be peaceful.

10 months old

Our baby is 10 months old today and time is just zooming past.
Jacob had a fairly uneventful day today cause he was up lots last night (I think he is catching my cold). We all went grocery shopping and Jacob decided that he should touch all the frozen items in the cart. Then thinking that he might be ready for his nap (cause he did fall asleep on the way home) we put him to bed when we got home and the little turkey decided that he wasn't really all that tired yet. He played in his crib for 2 hours before he finally drifted off for an hour. His schedule today is all messed up now cause he had a very late lunch and is now occupying himself by taking all the papers out of the shredder and eating them himself. So with half the day shot I decided that his 10 month pictures should be outside in the rain since that appears to be our weather options. So here is he is in his nice new raincoat ( I can't wait till he walks and splashes in the puddles). Maybe for his 11 month pictures we will find some snow!

Going to Mummy's office
Mummy had to ask her boss if she could change her work schedule for when she has to go back to work (boo hoo). Mummy has said that she would rather not work but spend all day with me but that if we want to move to the big house that she will need to leave me for a little while in the days. She said my Grandma's are going to look after me so I will have lots of loving and treats. Mummy also told me that I better get on the walking thing before she has to go to work cause I have to show her first. Daddy is sure that I took my first solo step in the tub last night but I am keeping it a secret.

My kitties

I have three kitties, their names are Frisbee, Sassy & Whisper.
This is Sassy, she doesn't really like to play with me but sometimes she likes to try and sneak into my bed. I don't mind as long as she doesn't try to bed hog.Whisper doesn't know what to make of me yet cause she isn't used to loud, grabby little boys. I keep trying so hopefully when I'm bigger she will like to play with me.
This is Frisbee and she's my second mummy. Whenever I cry and mummy doesn't get to me fast enough she comes to check on me. She enjoys playing with me. We like to to play WWF wrestling. I plow drive onto her and she pretends that she would rather be somewhere else. She really likes me cause she never tries to hide whenever I say it's time to play.

Mummy and Daddy have said that when we move to the big house that we will get a puppy. I like puppies cause they help clean my face and it is funner than when mummy cleans it.
Visiting
Mummy bought me a big belt to wear in my highchair cause last night I wasn't a very good boy. I heard my mummy say that she was not amused even though I was smiling and laughing myself. Now this belt makes it much harder to get out of my chair, but I'm working on it. Mummy says if I get out of this then she is super gluing me to my chair. I wonder if it tastes good!

Vroom, Vroom

Honk, honk, here I come! I have been having lots of fun lately. My favourite game to play is sitting in the laundry hamper and pretend that I am driving a car. Mummy and daddy put a cushion in and then push me all around on the carpet while i make squealing noises. This is fun and it makes mummy and daddy laugh.
But one day, mummy let me drive her truck and it has a big wheel that I can hold on to. I like it cause it makes noises when you step on the wheel thing. Of course the truck didn't move but one day mummy says when I am really, really old and they are infirmed they will let me drive them all over the place. I can't wait!

Straightjacket required!

Steve and I are considering buying a straightjacket for Jacob because it seems everytime we put him in his highchair now he wiggles himself out and stands up and leans towards the counter. At first it was cute but now in a matter of seconds while I am trying to rinse out his cloth he is out and standing (literally 10 seconds). I don't think this kid knows how to do anything at a slow speed once he has learned a skill. So today I went on the hunt for a 5 point harness highchair (didn't find one yet) in the hopes that if we buckle up his arms he can't possibly get out. Gee maybe he won't be a dentist but will actually become the next Houdini!

Let it snow, let it snow!

Today I went with my mummy and Grandma and had my Christmas pictures taken. The lady took lots of pictures but when she gave me the cookies they wouldn't come off the plate. Mummy said that I behaved very well and that she wasn't going to be able to choose the best pictures so she would have to buy them all. I got to wear my winter hat, scarf and mits even though the snow wasn't real. Mummy says that when there is real snow that her and daddy will take me sledding and that I can eat all the snow (not the yellow stuff though) I want. We can't wait for it to snow.
Mummy says that soon I can go visit Santa Claus but not the real one cause he lives at the North Pole and tell him what I want for Christmas. I think i will tell him I want some music makers cause I like to boogey. I hope I don't have to wait long for this Christmas to arrive.
