Catching up

Wow time is flying. Jacob turned 22 months with a handful of memories. He was helping me make dinner and when i turned to take the pot off the stove, he decided to test if i was actually telling the truth about "Hot, Hot"! Yup he decided to touch the burner and burnt 3 of his fingers. I quickly ran them under water while the poor guy cried and cried and then cried some more throughout the night. I am hoping that this has reinforced the "Don't touch the stove cause it's Hot, Hot" warnings.

Well now he's all better and doesn't appear to be scarred (I don't think i would have lived down the guilt bestowed upon me by nameless people).

A couple days later we celebrated Steve's birthday which prompted a trip to Jacob's favourite store, "John Deere". We walked out of there with not only a present for daddys's tractor but a couple really neat toys ones for Jacob. We also had to return one that he had broken within an hour of getting it. I guess toys made for 5yrs and up really can't be used by almost 2 yr olds cause heck they are so much stronger. Anyway we had a nice party for daddy and Jacob got to see all of his half-siblings (some who he hasn't seen in ages). He also decided that he would partake in sampling his grandpa's hot tea (not actually hot). A boy of many tastes!

Jacob has been really talking up a storm lately and has even been so bold as to tell me to "go away, mummy" and try pushing me out of the way. He has been saying lots of 5-6 word sentences and has developed a funny sense of humor. He has also developed this lovely habit of getting mad and smashing things when he is frustrated or when he wants some attention. Usually If I ask him if he wants to go to bed or if he wants me to take away his toys that calms him down. He has been pretty good about me being busy with all the packing and has even helped with stuff like throwing the food into the cooler or hiding in the boxes or unpacking all of his toys that i packed up. I'm not sure if he realizes yet that in a couple more days he won't be living here anymore and that the house that is still a construction zone will be transferred into his new house with hopefully not so much fun things to get into trouble with.
