Playing it up at Playland

Last Saturday, Daddy took mummy, Meagen and myself to a bbq at Playland. We got to tour the PNE Prize home (which wasn't terribly exciting to Meagen and me) and have a free lunch and then we got free admission to ride the rides and play mini golf. I have discovered that there are way more rides out there than the ones you see in the malls and they are sooo much fun. I got to drive a motorcycle, a car, a boat, a helicopter, a horse, and a train. I got to slide and wander through an obstacle course, ride on the ferris wheel and make funny faces on the roller coaster. I played an interesting game of mini golf which involved throwing the ball and hitting mummy on the ankle and I even managed a hole in one (okay I took a few turns to get it).

We had loads of fun and the plus side was it tired me out so i slept all the way home. Now I'm ready to tackle Disneyworld!!

Fun stuff in July

So with July being almost over and the house almost complete with repairs I thought i should update what's been happening.

The beginning of July had my aunt and uncle and cousins visiting from Ontario. We had lots of fun.... we hiked up & back down Teapot hill (3 hrs), we went to the splash park, toured the Othello Tunnels, went to the Canada Day activities in Abbotsford, had a bbq at our house, played on the trampoline at my other aunt and uncle's house, picked berries at Nonna's house, rode the trikes all over the deck, got into a few squabbles and went to the aquarium. We packed quite a bit of fun into the 2 weeks and it was sad to see them head home.

Can't wait to see what August holds for adventures.......

Sandcastles, Alligators and Falls

Sandcastle building is fun especially when it turns into a competition. That's what happened when mummy, Tessa and Meagen started to build a castle. Daddy and Craig thought they could do a better job and so they challenged mummy's team to a little fun. This is the final product, can you guess who won?


Mummy's group was going for the free hand aproach, with moats and lots of defense

And Me, I was going for the destruction look! Cause really that's the kind of sandcastle that I like

After all that fun it was time to try out the new alligator that mummy bought for me.


I think I tamed him pretty well!

On the day that we left we went to visit Shannon Falls again this time Auntie Kim and Uncle Pete came along. Once again I had to show my break dancing talents and had everyone sit at the viewing area and watch me break it down. To make it legit I had them all clap at the end of each dance routine! Next year I enter "So you think you can dance"!

tttttt...THOMAS the TRAIN

So really the whole excursion to Squamish was to see Thomas the train and on Saturday we got the chance to visit the cheeky little engine. It was a hot day and there was lots to see and do but I managed to do most of it. When we got there we were a little concerned that my cousin Craig wouldn't be able to get in as his ticket was for wheelchair admission but we had no problems and we soon found our way in to see all the train exhibits set up to see and play with. I really liked playing with all the trains {not too fond of having to share any of them though:( } and i also enjoyed seeing all the minature trains set up. When it was our turn to take a ride on Thomas we loaded the hot car and I entertained the fellow behind me with my Thomas whistle though I'm not sure he was as fond of my musical talent as I was.

I'm also not too sure if my cousin Craig enjoyed his day out with Thomas as much as I did, daddy did though (especially the little donuts)!

We ended our fun day with a trip to see the controllor of the trains of Sodor - Sir Topham Hatt. And to prove that he really isn't that stern, I gave him a goodbye hug!

Camping in Squamish

Last Friday we headed up to Squamish to welcome summer in a traditional way.... camping. We brought along Auntie Leasa and the kids (and the pooches) and after a few detours (daddy got lost and mummy found out that the place she thought we could camp at wasn't the best place), we found our home away from home at Alice Lake Prov. Park. I think we managed to make the most of our little site such as a comfy hammock swing.

Of course you can never go wrong when you bring some toys to play with.

And then there is the favourite night time activity of roasting marshmelllows.

My cousin Meagen and I both seemed to have some difficulty getting the whole marshmellow into our mouths without losing some of it, but they were yummy anyway.

horsing around

So a couple weeks ago my cousin Kristen arranged for me and my friends to go for a little ride on the horses that she rides. It was a pretty hot day but that didn't discourage our enthusiasm for riding. My friends Damien, Olivia and Keira came along and even brought their parents. First I tried out riding Jewels by myself with Kristen leading her and then Kristen hopped on behind me so that mummy could get some pictures. Finally mummy and I took a little trot around the ring. I quite enjoyed the bouncing around but apparentaly the horse thought she should go faster (I think she needed a time-out). Later after we all finished having a couple rides (even Keira's mummy and nanny went- though it didn't look that English when they rode!)we got to feed the horses some apple in the field.

It was fun and mummy has promised Charlene that we will come back to visit her and the horses again.

Trip to Kilby

So yesterday was pretty fun, mummy and I met up with some of our friends and went to a little beach at Kilby to splash around. I was a little concerned that there might be some sharks as I had recently seen on a TV show about sharks swimming in rivers and attacking little boys legs. Mummy assured me that there were no sharks just some fish that I might be able to catch with my net. When we got to the beach there were signs with some birds and fish on them and again I mentioned that they looked like sharks! Again mummy told me that there were none in the river cause they would blow up if they swam in this kind of water. So afterwards I decided to try my luck at catching some litle fish.... no luck there as the little things swim really fast.

Oh well I had fun anyway splashing in the waves made by the motor boats,watching 5 trains travel over the bridge,

throwing water on people and stepping on all of mummys attempts at building a sand castle.

When it was time to leave we got to stop for ice cream and then got to sit in a bit of traffic due to an accident on the highway. Luckily we didn't have to wait long and my popsicle didn't melt.

New neighbour

Since living up here we have been lucky to see a mother bear and her cub, baby deer in our burn pile, families of deer eating the grass, lots of birds, squirrels,mice in the cars, frogs and now we have seen the raccoon after seeing tracks of it for the last little while. Mummy has been feeding the birds in the tree outside our kitchen window and every once in awhile the bird feeders are on the ground with the seed all gone. She was thinking that either the squirrel was really strong or that we had a raccoon and since we have seen the prints she was sure it wasn't a squirrel pack ganging up on the feeders. Twice now around 8pm we have seen the raccoon climb the tree and try to knock the feeder to the ground. He's a pretty smart little guy and he can even hang from all 4 paws and shake the tree. He is of course also a little camera shy and not quite willing to show us his secret for getting the feeder down cause after he realized he was being watched he scooted off only to return under the cover of darkness to get his treats.

Mummy is using this visiting as reinforcement to having her fence installed around her garden post haste!

Mothers Day - A new tradition???

Well yesterday finally arrived and I got to tell mummy how much I love her by giving her a card and some flowers and by letting her sleep through the night. We had a great day planned with most of my aunts and uncles, my grandma and nonna all arriving later for a bbq lunch and a fun game of crocquet. Mummy planted lots of flowers earlier that day and daddy got the bbq all fired up and i played pirate with my new pirate accessories on my playhouse.

We were having such a wonderful time until someone yelled at mummy and daddy that our house was leaking water. Boy was it ever! Everyone all pitched in and started mopping up the lake that had formed in our living room, bathrooms and hallway. Then daddy phoned some people and they arrived later to set up big loud fans that would help suck up all the wet stuff.

So now I wonder what can top this excitement for next years Mothers day event?

A tour of the tunnels

Last Monday daddy had the day off cause his friend Kelly was down from Whitehorse so we decided since the weather was great that we should take a trip up to Hope and see the Othello tunnels. Mummy and I had never been and we wanted to check out the great views and pretend to be trains.

These tunnels are a great place to run around, to climb walls and look down through the bridge to the water below. It's also a great place to prentend to be bats and fly around scaring people.

It was fun day and we topped it off by going out for lunch (which wasn't as much fun for mummy and I).

A reason to get dressed up

On Saturday my oldest sister Brittany got married and even though I wasn't involved in the wedding, I got to dress up in my finest and help celebrate. I was even really well behaved through the ceremony and daddy let me lay on the floor when he realized that I was being quiet. Of course all niceness left when it came time for pictures and time for me to get some food into me. But mummy was prepared and bribed me quite nicely with some gummy worms and so we managed to get pictures done without much fuss.

There was some time before the reception so we went to get a bite to eat with my grandparents and aunts and uncles and I had already reached my melt down point so i was a little quarrelsome until I was promised that I could run around at a park later. I still didn't eat much and this worried mummy cause she knows that no food plus pent up energy make a bad combo.

It was time for the reception and dinner and again I ate nothing but instead ate mints and drank punch. Yes the sugar finally hit my system and I had to let it out. So I played knife, spoon and fork air guitar! I must admit I was awesome and I even snagged myself some groupies of older girls. After this though I really hit boiling point and had to be ejected from the reception bodily. I got a few slaps in on the bouncer who was the unfortunate person who got the job of forcibly removing me (yup that'd be mummy) and she got one good spank in after we left the room and then I was given some options for calming down. I choose the book reading and it worked!

Given it was now near my bed time, my parents choose to send me back to my aunt and uncles house to play with my cousins (and also hoping maybe I would crash). So off I went to wreak terror on my people and mummy and daddy stayed to dance. Later when they picked me up I crashed for real on the drive home at 11pm.

I hoping that the next wedding I attend I will be able to stay for the dancing portion as I have some great moves to show off. Instead all I got to show was my tiny 3 yr old terrors.
