Taking to the ice like a pro

This morning mummy and I met up with a couple friends to try out some new skates. Mummy is going to put me in lessons in January after i turn 3 and she wanted me to get used to skating on tiny little blades before class started. So we got all bundled up and put all the protective gear on and headed out to try our hand at skating. It was a little weird to stand up on those skates but after a couple wobbly tries in the lobby i was ready to venture onto the ice. Man that ice is slippery when you step onto it! Keira and I must have had the same thought when we stepped on it "what happened and why are we on our butts?" But I overcame the adversary and managed to get up on two feet and stand unassisted and even managed to walk a few times before plummeting to my now very wet bottom.

Did I enjoy myself? Yes!

Would I try it again? Yes!

Do I like running around the bleachers more than skating? Yes!!

Stuff to do- no matter the weather!

The last week or so we haven't been doing too much but hang out. Mummy and daddy took me for a bike ride last week down to Rotary trail where daddy decided that we should do a little off-roading. Big mistake, cause the blackberries had overgrown on the trail and daddy tried to avoid them and ended up dumping me and the bike onto our side. He tired to blame it on mummy cause she has a habit of falling off her bike but it was all him (maybe mummy's bike is cursed!)

Mummy had also taken me for a ride the day before and we got to watch the diggers taking gravel out of the river.

We have been spending time at home doing stuff too and when it's not nice out, it means it's great weather to go frog hunting. Mummy and I found 2 frogs, a big one and a little one. They are funny to hang on to cause they tickle your hand and they keep trying to jump away.

Another thing I like to do on yucky days is stay inside and get messy trying out finger painting. Who knows when you'll create the next masterpiece!

There's always fun things to do no matter what the weather is like.

Parties are fun times

We have had a few birthdays lately in our family so that means lots of cake and celebrating together. I really like getting together with my family and I like picking out presents and preparing the meals.

Since the corn has been ready, we have been eating lots of fresh food and I like to do my part and help shuck it.

I also like the birthday parties cause someone usually lets me help blow out their candles or I get to give them presents and get all the hugs.
But mostly I just like hanging out with my family cause we always have fun together.

Wild animals abound

So since living here we have seen tons of frogs, baby deer, families of deer and now we have seen the bear. Friday evening when we were driving home we almost hit one in the middle of the road. Then on Saturday morning, mummy woke up to discover that someone had been in her garden and eaten all of her corn. On further investigation, we discovered that it was a bear who pushed his way thru the deer fencing and trampled the garden to eat all the corn. Mummy was looking forward to trying that corn too!

Then on Saturday evening after we all went to bed, mummy and daddy woke up to hear something scrounging thru the recycling bottles (guess bears like beer and wine). So they went downstairs and turned on the light which frightened the the bear away. The light stayed on all night in case the bear wanted to come back. Sunday morning when we woke up we had discovered that the bear once again put another hole in the deer fencing and busted up the compost bin to sniff out what was inside. I guess it wasn't to his taste cause it wasn't that disturbed but it made for a fun time cleaning and disposing of.

But that wasn't all the bear sightings and happenings going on here. The other night just after dinner mummy managed to snag this picture of a mummy and her baby before they ran off into the woods.
Mummy is now investigating the price of getting a bear broof garbage can and has daddy all lined up to put the chain link fencing around the garden for next year with a covered top.

Camping adventure

So last Saturday, mummy, daddy and I packed up the truck and headed up to Jones Lake to take in the experience of camping. Of course Mummy and daddy have done this before but not with me so they wanted to see if I liked it. The weather didn't want to cooperate very well and so I got to find out what it's like to camp in the rain.

We headed up with my aunt and uncle and cousins and halfway up we stopped (I was asleep by then) to cut some firewood cause we were going to need lots to help stay dry. Uncle Pete brought his chainsaw but it didn't seem to want to run very well so after awhile, mummy, auntie Leasa, Meagen and I headed up to scout out a good campsite. They just started to set up the tent when I woke up so Meagen and I sat in the car and watched while they got wet. Then we headed back down to see how the guys were coming with the wood. Finally we got back to camp, missed having lunch and so we had to work on getting a fire ready for dinner. After we got the big tarps up and the fire going we had a great time. I especially liked the camper that my aunt and uncle brought. I played in there practicing my cooking, make-up application and pillow tossing. I also went for lots of walks, roasted marshmellows (though I prefer them uncooked), played with my trucks, pushed a doll cariage with a beer can in it, did a little pole dancing and I pee'd outdoors.
I got to sleep in my first tent with my brand new sleeping bag (of course mummy wasn't very comfortable cause I kicked her off the air mattress and she had to sleep on the floor). I got to run around, stay up late and eat food off of sticks. I think I like this camping experience and I have been promised that next year we will venture out more to enjoy more of this fun.

African Lion Safari

The day before we left Ontario, we drove out to the African Lion Safari and saw a whole bunch of wild animals running loose. We took out all the carseats in the van and got to wander from window to window and watch the animals laze in the sun.
We drove through the lion's area and watched the lions sunning on the big rocks, watched the baboons try and pull the rubber stripping off the vechicles, watched the giraffes being herded away from people in their cars trying to touch them and watched the elephants walk to the lagoon and have a swim.
After spending the day watching the animals, we decided to cool off in the spray park.

Adventures in Ontario

I had lots of fun while visiting my relatives in Ontario. We packed so many fun things into such a short time.

We visited a farm with animals and mazes and a big sandbox with lots and lots of tractors,

We went to a big amusement park on the edge of Lake Ontario and slid down a large slide, went on rides that went round and round and up and down, splashed in a really fun splash park that dumped a big bucket of water on unsuspecting people, rode on the GO train and trolley cars and saw the CN tower from the train

Went to a mall when it rained cats and dogs and rode all the amusement rides and raced around in a big jungle gym.

My trip to Ontario

Mummy, daddy and i just got back from visiting my Auntie Nadia, Uncle Roy and cousins Chloe & Kevin in Ontario. I got to spend the night before we left in a hotel in Vancouver cause we had to be at the airport really early. Mummy thought that it would be easier cause then i would get more sleep but it didn't work out that way. None of us slept very well cause it was really hot and we were all too excited. We took a frantic cab ride to the airport where I woke up enough to take in all the neat things going on there. They have lots of mini-tractors working there that carry people around or move luggage or fuel up the plane. Mummy bought me some new cars and tractors to take on the plane and so I had lots to keep me occupied on the flight. My parents hoped that maybe i would fall asleep on the plane but it didn't fit my plans.
I had a great time flying and I got to play with the earphones, check out the washrooms, look in the galley and even got to play cars on the floor without getting run over by the food carts.

Half a playground

Daddy has been very busy the last week putting my playground together but now we are going on holidays so the rest of the work will have to wait till we get back. I have been directing daddy on how to put everything together and can say that it hasn't been that difficult of a job to this point. When we get back we will finish putting the slide up and getting the border put up so that we can fill the sandbox with sand and the safe area with peastones (not sure why we need stones that have pee on them though cause that just seems wrong but oh well)

I have done a safety test on the swings and monkey bars and have found them to be great fun. I even have my own little desk where I can take orders or work on my "puter". I think this playground shall be a resounding success when it is all finished and i can't wait to invite my friends up to enjoy the fruit of my labour.

Little Elf

Mummy cleaned my car seat and when she did she found these fun slippers for me to wear. They fit me so well and all this time i can't believe that my carseat was hiding them from me. I am now ready to join the wood nymphs and frolic in the mystical forests.

Showing my pride

I know Canada Day has come and gone but I like to show my Canadian pride every once and awhile and the best way i know how is to tatoo it to my body. Mummy says that if we practice putting the tatoos in different areas that maybe I won't want to tatoo my whole body when i get older.

What can be better than a TRACTOR

This last week, the man came up to our house and brought his bulldozer up for me to play on. It is really big and you have to have your mummy lift you up to get onto it cause it doesn't have any steps. It has really big "teeth" that it drives on and it moves dirt and scrapes the ground and makes it all smooth.

Then the next day when we left the house the man was back and he was pushing the dirt around to make my playground. When we got home that night the bulldozer was gone and my playground wasn't there either! I miss the bulldozer:(

On the plus side, mummy has promised to gently coax daddy that putting up my playground is a priority. Meanwhile I have been practicing moving all the newly scraped dirt around and digging some more holes. It's like one huge sandbox right now with my own world of dirt!

Dinotown

This last Monday, I went to Dinotown with Auntie Kim and Meagen and mummy. It's like a huge playground to run around in and I certainly did that.

I got to paddle a boat, ride a train,

play mini-golf,

Slide down a dinosaurs tail and

play in the spray park.

They have a really neat turtle that sprays water and for some reason I thought he would be a good spot to stop and refresh myself with a little drink. So up I climb onto him and stick my mouth near the hole and SQUIRT, he sprayed a whole bunch of water in me and on me. I did this twice cause the first time was funny.

All in all, I had an enjoyable time. Mummy says that when we go and visit my cousins in Toronto that maybe we will visit a really large place called Wonderland that has lots more fun things to play on and do.

The last couple weeks

So things have been pretty hectic around here with Mummy going back to work 3 days a week in Abbotsford. The plus side to her working is that I get to spend more time with my grandparents and I have them convinced that they need to lay down with me at nap time (hee hee).

On June 11th I went to visit the dentist for the first time. She let me ride on the big chair and then she had me open real wide so she could count my teeth (I have 20). The I got to watch "Mr. Thirsty" suck up all the water and see the little hose squirt the water out. the best part was I got a new toothbrush and a snake!

We had a great Father's day gathering at our house for all the dads. We had all my favourite cousins over, my siblings, aunts, uncles and grandparents. It was great fun and I learned a new trick with my wagon. If you sit in your wagon and steer it down the hillside into a group of men playing bocce it will make them scatter like flies (thanks Tessa & Meagen)! i really enjoy having lots of people over to the house to play with.

A couple of days later it was Grandma's birthday and we made her some cakes and went over after dinner to help her eat them. I got into a tangle with Gunner my aunt's lab and now i sport a nice scratch on my forehead. Mummy says that maybe I will think twice about bugging the cats now that I know animals are unpredictable (sidebar - I also got sprayed a few days later for bugging our cats).

Now we are gearing up for Canada Day as mummy has promised that we can go and have fun in Abbotsford playing on all the activities. The man is also going to come and start our bulldozing so maybe, just maybe i will have my playgorund up by the first weekend in July! Yay, I like summer time fun.
