My fort

Sometimes during the day when we don't get a chance to go outside or it's too cold or yucky, mummy and I do some other stuff. Sometimes we paint or draw or play toys and sometimes we make a really cool fort on my bed. Mummy gets out all the old baby blankets and pushes the chair over and clips the blankets together with clothespins. Then we climb inside and have pretend play with my phones or cars or whatever.

I think my mum makes cool forts!

Taking some classes

So now that I'm 3 I get to do things that 2 yr olds can't do. One of those things is I get to take skating classes. Mummy registered me in her skating class and every Thursday, daddy takes me to the rink where I skate on the ice with 20 other kids and we are all expected to listen to mummy and the other 2 teachers (Dennis & Melissa). Now this is kinda a new concept to me cause even though I go skating with mummy once a week and she teaches me stuff, I never had so many other little kids like me on the ice listening to mummy too. I'm doing really well with the skating part but I sometimes have a difficult time with the listening part so I tend to wander off and chat with the other kids, or pretend that I'm a fish and try to swim on the ice or (don't tell mummy)I poke holes in the ice. Now you would think with that many kids on the ice mummy wouldn't see me when I'm not listening but she's really good at keeping all the kids in line and tells all of us "there will be no candies" if we don't listen. I think she means it!

Now that I'm 3 I also get to go to "school "and "not just walk my cousin to school and check out her class school". Mummy and I went to 2 different schools and found the one that we like best. Now this doesn't seem like the same class that my cousin Meagen goes too cause for one thing there are toys everywhere and they even have trains! Plus we get to draw, paint, sing songs, play in sandboxes inside, have snack time, gym time and I hear we even get Library time. The only thing that seems the same as my cousins class is the sitting in the circle and listening to a teacher thing. But that doesn't seem that hard cause she has fun things for us to do like help her with the stickies and she reads stories to us. Best of all, mummy gets to play in the class too and some of my friends even go to the classes with their mummy's too.

This has been a pretty fun month so far and mummy tells me that i get to start my swimming lessons next week too. I think being 3 is going to be "cool".

I'm a big kid now!"

For the last couple weeks, mummy has been getting me to go potty more and to make it even more exciting she has bought me my very own "daddy underwears". I have been using the potty seat for at least 6 months now everymorning, evening and at nap time when I napped but I have gradually been going more often and then I learned how to not poop in my pull-ups but instead ask to go poop. Well now I have graduated to full fledged "big boy" because ever since mummy got rid of my pull-ups and I started to wear my daddy underwears I have been going pee and poop on the potty. What's even better is that I only had 3 days of accidents till I learned that when you pee in you underwears it dribbles down your legs and into your socks and sometimes when you are squating over your train tracks it gets them wet too! Now I am able to go to the bathroom all by myself and wipe my bum and shake the pee-pees off and pull up and down my clothes and as the song says "I'm a big kid now!" I have even mastered 5 nights of night time sleeps without being wet in the morning, though when asked by Grandma today if I have a potty upstairs, I informed her that "I don't have a pot to pee in".

Mummy and daddy are very excited for me and excited not to have to buy anymore diapers or pull-ups. YAY!

Toot Toot- I'm 3 years old!

Whoo hoo after mummy and daddy telling me that I had so many night sleeps till my birthday, it is finally here. This morning I woke up to see 10 Thomas balloons in my kitchen and one of them was a big train.

Then mummy and I went swimming with my friend Carson and my cousins.

That was lots of fun, but I really wanted that Thomas cake that Grandma made me, so off we went home to get the party started.

The house quickly filled up with family and friends and after making my intentions known ( I stuck my fingers in the cake), we lit the candles and everyone sang the song I have been waiting to hear. After filling my face with cake and ice-cream, I was anxious to start tearing off the wrapping paper of some really big presents. I got some really great things like a super big dump truck, a whole wack of Thomas trains tracks, crane, bridges, trees and trains, a birthday train, a hummer, a shirt, some money, a Whorton hears a Who movie, a cars set and some books. I now have enough trains and tracks that I could open my own store.

I had a really great day playing with all my new stuff and I didn't have to give my soother away yet! (we tried but he's just not ready to part with his night time buddy - apparentally he's worried his mouth will get cold :( )

I am already planning my next birthday and am hoping it comes soon cause I really like this cake and present fun.

Christmas and New Year's celebrations

The last couple weeks have been very exciting with 2 fun holidays and all the snow. Mummy and daddy have been telling me the importance of being extra good so that Santa would bring me some nice gifts and not rocks. Mummy even threatened that some of the presents that I was shaking were rocks. So on Christmas morning when I opened up Thomas trains I mentioned to mummy that they were not rocks. Santa even brought me Thomas trains too but not Proteus (I got that on Boxing day from my grandparents). In total I got 16 Thomas trains and lots of track to play with, some new tractors, a garbage truck and my very own camera, some new clothes, new pj's, books and colouring stuff.

My Nona came over bright and early on Christmas day and watched me open my gifts and then we headed over to Auntie Leasa and Uncle Pete's to have lunch with mummy's family. We also got to open more presents there and I got to check out all my cousins fun gifts too. Then we headed home again to get ready to have dinner at our house with daddy's family. I got to hang out with "my girls" before going to bed. On the 26th we headed over to my grandparents for dinner and open a few more gifts. I think I must have been really good cause I sure had lots of fun.

Then to bring the week of festivities to a close we headed up to my Auntie Kim's and Uncle Franks to go tobogganing and ring in the new year. We do this every year usually so mummy can get her snow fix but this year we already had lots of snow so this was just for sledding fun.

This year uncle Frank even got to join us so I had lots of people willing to pull me up the hill. We met up with some friends and then afterwards we headed back to the house for dinner and treats. Finally it was bedtime and I got to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor while the adults welcomed in the new year (barely).

If that wasn't enough excitement, mummy, auntie Kim and I headed to Fabricland to pick up some material for new clothes and so that i could express how much fun the last couple weeks have been- All over the floor of Fabricland! Yup that's right I barfed and now I fear that I have a bug from all the excitement.
Oh well I think it was worth all of it and i look forward to next years celebrations.

Santa Train to Vancouver

On Saturday we bundled up in our winter coats and headed into Mission to board the Christmas train to Vancouver. It was a family event with 3 of my cousins, my two aunts, my grandparents and mum and dad.

I had a blast on the train singing Jingle bells, running up and down the stairs

and talking to Santa.

I even had fun once we got intoVancouver (though not sure if mummy did at lunch time when I was behaving like a brat- she even sat at a different table from me!) Anyways we wandered through the malls, went outside and saw some window displays, climbed up and down a chimney, milked a cow, sat on Santa's lap and ran up and down the escalators. I even got to help daddy pick out some new shoes (he wouldn't let mummy help). We had lots of fun and we even helped out the kids who wouldn't get gifts this year.

I think this might be something we can do every Christmas!

Trains, trains and more trains

Lately I really seem to enjoy trains and since I have asked Santa for trains for Christmas, when mummy saw a gingerbread kit that was a train she had to buy it for me. Last night when she got home we got to make it all up.

Of course it was really hard to wait for daddy to get everything ready and then there was some difficulty with small hands and small candies.

But finally I found my moment and snuck some candy into my mouth and it made this gingerbread assembly super fun. Of course it also made my bedtime super late cause I didn't just stop with sneaking one candy - I went for a whole bunch of SUGAR!!!!
Ta da and we are done. Now I can't wait to eat it!

The man in the red suit

This morning after we finished skating, we hooked up with my friends Keira and Carson to go and visit this Ol Santa dude. Apparentaly Keira has already made a few attempts to get near the old guy but has had no luck with sitting on his knee. So mummy knowing that last year was a little scary for me brought along Percy the train so that I would have something to talk to Santa about. I did manage to sit on Santa's lap and then later we came back and got a better picture taken and to get a cookie.

The first time I didn't get a cookie cause mummy figures that they weren't too happy that she brought her own camera to take pictures. Either way we managed to get my visit on film for my memory book. Oh ya and I told Santa what I wanted for Christmas (of course I figured he would've given it to me right then so i was a little annoyed).

New places to play

So this weekend was fun and also lazy. On Saturday we went to my friend Brooklynns house so we could annoy each other (which we did) and on Sunday we took the kitties for their picture with Santa. They did really well and no one cried, though they did try to get away and didn't ya know they are as difficult to get a good shot of as it is to get a bunch of 2year olds to face the camera at the same time! Then when we got home, mummy thought that daddy should fulfill one of his promises for the weekend and put the drawer pulls on my cupboards. I tried to help but apparently I wasn't needed so instead I played in my toy hamper. It makes a really good bed for me and for Sassy!

Of course now that my drawer pulls are on I have the access to a new hiding place :]

Dentist and cake

So today was a very busy day with me going skating this morning, the dentist in the afternoon and making cakes for daddy's birthday tomorrow.

Mummy and I headed out to the rink this morning so I could get some more practice on my new skates. I am getting really good now and can go all the way across the ice without falling down. Of course I really like falling down and the getting up pose that mummy has called my "downward dog" pose. I also really like my new skates cause they can make some really good holes in the ice (ya i know I'm not allowed to do that but it's just too much fun)

Afterwards we stopped off to scare Grandma when she didn't know we were in the house (she even has those security dogs that bark at everything and she still didn't expect us). So we ate some lunch, brushed my teeth and then headed to the dentist for my second appointment. Today i had to open my mouth real wide, put the sunglasses on and watch the TV on the ceiling. Oh ya and the lady polished my teeth and then let me pick a toy from the toy chest. I think I could like this dentist thing!

Then cause tomorrow is daddy's birthday we had to stop and get the mixings for cake. I got to help mummy mix the cakes up and spooned the mix into the cupcake pans. Of course I also tried to help by mixing the chocolate mix in with the angel food mix and by using the bottom of the measuring cup to flatten out the mixture in the mixing bowl. Mostly I liked the painting part! Ya know when you get to use the spatula and smear the chocolate mix all over the bowl, the counter, and yourself. Can't wait for the eating part!

Grasshopper tricks

Friday was Halloween and mummy, me and even daddy attended a party at one of our friends house. All my friends were there with one or both of their parents and we all had some really cute costumes on (cause that's what you have to do to get free candy). We played, ate and drank for a little while and then we put on our rain boots and headed outside to strangers houses to ask for candy. Now you can't just ask, you must say " Trick or Treat" and then hold out your bag so they can deposit lots of goodies in it, then you say "Thank you". Sometimes the people will ask you to do a trick so you must be prepared. Mummy warned me of this so I had my trick of jumping on one foot all ready. Then sometimes your grandpa will play a trick on you by putting a pumpkin in your goodie bag instead of candy! Then you must very nicely tell him that it's too heavy!

This was a really fun night cause you get to run around in the dark, ring strangers doorbells, see all sorts of funny decorations and lots of pumpkins with lights. Plus you get to stay up later cause you are under a sugar high!!!!
